CAIN's Mr. Bill Show ("Oh, No")
Did you know 1 in 6 people in our community are food insecure? That means 281,000 individuals do not know where their next meal is coming from.
This year I will be taking a stand against hunger in our community. On Memorial Day, we will be participating in the Hunger Walk and 5K Run to benefit the Freestore Foodbank's network of partner agencies, one of which is CAIN - Churches Active in Northside.
Since my retirement last April, I have been serving at CAIN, an ecumenical ministry providing food and compassion to our brothers and sisters in need (www.cainministry.org). One of the ways I serve is by playing Play Doh with the kids at the Phil's Place community meal on Mondays (where I'm frequently referred to as Mr. Bill).
Please join us in this fight by joining our team or supporting our efforts with a tax-deductible donation. May I suggest a contribution of $20 or $25 if you walk, and $50 if you don't? But please be as generous as you are able.
The Hunger Walk is an awesome event: a river of people coming together to combat hunger in our communities.
