Hello everyone! Hope you’re doing well during in this lock down. What a strange time we’re in.
It's nearly Memorial Day weekend and time for the annual Hunger Walk. I'm participating again to support one of my favorite organizations, CAIN (Churches Active in Northside). Yes, the walk is happening. It will be a “virtual” event but, as I’m sure you know, the need is very real. Last I heard the number of families/individuals receiving support from CAIN has gone up 40%. CAIN is up and running, distributing non-perishable food, fresh produce, and other essentials to people struggling to feed themselves and their families. The work is being done by staff since most of us volunteers are staying home and staying safe.
I struggle in my relatively luxurious lock down knowing that there are so many people who don’t have what they need for themselves and their families. One small thing I can do is support the Hunger Walk, the major fundraiser for CAIN, The Freestore Foodbank, and many other food pantries. I hope you’ll join me by contributing.
Your support is very much appreciated. Thank you so much!
