Hunger Walk & 5K Run - Freestore Foodbank
Did you know 1 in 6 people in our community are food insecure? That means 281,000 individuals do not know where their next meal is coming from.
This year I have decided to take a stand against hunger in our community. On Memorial Day, I will be participating in the Hunger Walk and 5K Run to benefit the Freestore Foodbank's network of partner agencies as part of the Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church (MWPC) team. MWPC has chosen Hunger as one of its signature missions and targets food insecurity in our community through a variety efforts, including providing financial support for the SEM Food Pantry. The SEM Food Pantry serves approximately 14,000 clients each year from the Mt. Washington/ Anderson Township/ Western Clermont County area. The SEM Food Pantry also partners with the Freestore/Foodbank and receives much food from them for distribution.
Please join us as we take a stand against hunger in our community. On Memorial Day, we will be participating in the Hunger Walk and 5K Run to benefit the Freestore Foodbank's network of partner agencies. Our team is supporting The SEM Food Pantry - an amount equal to the 100% funds raised by our team for the event (including participant registration fees and T-shirts fees) will be credited to The SEM Food Pantry's account with the Freestore Foodbank at the conclusion of the event.
The Hunger Walk and 5K Run will start at The Banks at 9am on May 28th. If you would like to support our team but cannot be present for the event, you can still donate!
Please join us in being a champion in this fight by joining our team or supporting our efforts with a tax-deductible donation
